We are a family that have been expecting our second child for over four years now. We started the adoption process in the spring of 2006, submitted our paperwork to China in September of 2006 and have been waiting patiently for a child since. We finally we got our referral and plan to have the process completed and travel to China this coming spring!

Mmm, blessed turtle soup

We went to the Six Banyan Trees Temple. It was a very nice place where they had many Buddhas and even a female one. I had no idea there were female Buddhas. We were just in time to ask for a blessing ceremony by a monk. He chanted, dripped some water on us and then we put a donation in the box. Every religion appears to be about the same to me.

We saw the temple of the female Buddha and was told that they used to hold the family blessings in there, but since they remodeled her crib they "transferred" her powers to the
other temple we used. I asked
how exactly they transferred her powers? If there was a power transfer company and if you needed to insert your key to turn on her powers like in the hotel room.

We didn't stay all that long at the temple, but when we left we saw this guy and his turtle.
Apparently you can purchase the turtle and take him into the temple to be blessed and then take him home to make dinner. Not sure the significance of the hard hat, that was just odd.
